It is regrettable that some reviewers were unhappy. If you compare this restaurant with Birdtown Café, it is better over fists. The waiter is more attentive and understands the menu. The waiting time for food is acceptable and you don't have to wait for a sandwich in the afternoon. We ordered side salads that were simple and very pleasant. The pizza was incredibly strong with reasonable prices. You have beer on tap and wine. The chef was looking and very appealing to feedback. Thank you for bringing a solid restaurant to Robbinsdale!!
I'm not the type to write restaurant reviews, but I'm going for this place. The quality and price of food here is fantastic. All I tried on the menu was above the top value. The food is simple and right. I have never understood why so many restaurants are struggling with it, but in my experience it is more common than not. Chestnut Cafe is a brilliant example of good food meeting good price. If this place is thrown a little money, the sky is the border.
The inside of the café looks like 2 separate places. There is a rear area that is very cozy and welcoming, but the front area looks like a wall is torn between the front seating area and a kitchen area. The walls and floors are completely different and it is clamping. The kitchen area you can look at has the beverage machines and where all spices are stored, and there is a bar/kitchen counter area where you can sit where this is all you are looking for. Once you're past the terrible aesthetics for the area of the café, the staff was friendly and fast, the Roasted Pork Benedict was very hot and tasty and certainly worth the cheap price $8.
Run, don't walk to the Chestnut for their New York-style pizza! Fresh ingredients and terrific pizza dough. Some of the best pizza we've had in the Twin Cities.
