Feedback
Eventually, the manager appeared and apologized, explaining that they had mistakenly handed my order to someone else and promised to prepare it again. When my order finally arrived, instead of the basil stir-fry, I received fried rice with eggs and some basil leaves. I pointed out the mistake, and the staff member then prepared the correct dish for me. She later mentioned that they don’t often make vegetarian items, which might explain the mix-up. If that’s the case, then why have vegetarian options on the menu at all? Overall, this was a disappointing experience and I have no intention of returning. Additionally, the restaurant itself is in poor condition; the chairs are ripped and the floors are dirty. Since I was only there for takeout, I won’t dwell on that too much.
Now, onto the food. We were offered complimentary small dinner salads, which were a nice touch and had a tasty dressing. The Crab Rangoon was good but not as generously filled as at other places. The Shrimp Dumplings were unexpected but excellent. The Larb Chicken had a decent portion but lacked any spice, even though we requested it to be medium hot. This lack of spice was a recurring theme across all the dishes. We ordered everything medium, expecting a good kick like at other Thai restaurants, but here “medium” seemed to mean no heat at all, leading to bland and, in some cases, flavorless dishes. The Ginger Delight had an excellent ginger flavor, while the Basil Fried Rice was pretty average. The Drunken Noodle was completely flavorless, and the Pad Ka Po attempted to have flavor but ultimately fell flat. On a positive note, the Thai Tea was well-prepared. Overall, the meal lacked the punch we were hoping for. A lesson for next time? Ask for more spice than what they define as medium, and definitely avoid requesting low heat, as I can’t imagine how bland that would be.
