The fork in the alley was a really nice little place that is actually not much. with an outside, an outside terrace, an inside kitchen and of course one inside it can hold some people. at the time when I was there (in the bar about 16 o'clock Friday afternoon) there were more employees than men. they get a later amount. wood fired pizza was good and personal friendly. on the second visit had fritten appetizers: amazing and smores for dessert: also amazing!
Great local space for a raised burger or pizza that will not burden her budget. I am a great fan of her burger, always perfectly cooked and more possibilities to complete it than they can imagine while my wife enjoys her pizzas with a gluten-free crust. the children's menu is good and a much better buck then every almost food joint (bacon mac cheese or oversized hot dog! the selection of the taps varies from domestic standards to local brew and apple wines.
This place is amazing. the food was wonderful and the prices cannot be beaten. You can sit inside, bar or outside. in the last week twice.
The bartender- richard- was wonderful! my cosmo was perfect! the staff was so friendly and the food was fabulous! highly recommended!
After moving away from Roanoke 13 years ago, we finally got to return. One of our want to re-visit stops was Fork in the Alley. The food was as delicious as we remembered...if not more so. The service was some of the best we have had anywhere. (I believe our server 's name was Jessica). She was so genuine in her conversations with us and she anticipated our drink refill needs. The outdoor dining was also great as we are still being cautious about Covid, and when the weather is nice, this is just a perfect place to be anyway (nice lights/ambiance). We would definitely recommend Fork in the Alley to others.
This Roanoke restaurant has been a favorite spot for many diners, offering a cool and funky atmosphere with a basic menu of pizza, burgers, and hot dogs. The highlight of the menu is the thin crust pizza, drawing in even the most discerning pizza lovers. While some diners have experienced declining quality in their meals, others have raved about the fresh salads and great pricing for upscale burgers and pizzas. The staff has received mixed reviews, with some experiencing rude or unprofessional behavior from servers, while others have praised the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. With a nice beer selection and a DJ spinning vinyl on Thursday nights, this restaurant has something for everyone and is definitely worth a visit.

The food was pretty bad and I took a visitor from out of state there because of how good it had been in the past.. Not fresh, missing ingredients, the only thing that was delicious was the chips and guacamole. Green beens cooked in old oil, bread not grilled, cheap cheese and store bought bread for sourdough. Used to be better. Picture shows how much food we left behind because it wasn’t edible. They graciously remade one of the sandwiches which was missing bacon and barbecue sauce had dried out cheese food slice, on the barely toasted bread. This was supposed to be a grilled cheese with pulled pork, bacon, and barbecue sauce on sourdough. This was an occasion they should’ve offered something back as they admitted they were training a new cook. But whoever was doing the training, never should’ve allowed that food out of the kitchen.
Good atmosphere, but late night menu needs to be more items and longer. So we just had a beer, But I guess a lot of places are like that in the area. So overall great!
Great spot to grab a quick decent meal. Not too expensive. The pizza is alright. Nothing special. The fries were good though. Will be coming back. A solid 4 star restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kid foods
Fork in the Alley was a great restaurant precovid but as with many restaurants the food quality is not where it once was.
Hamburgers were great and awesome crunchy battered fries! The sweet tea was perfect! The service was great! Lettuce seemed fresh but soft and no crunch. Was out of regular mustard. Next I'll try the fresh made pizza! Parking: Plenty of free street side parking in front of the white house, then take the walkway down the side of the house to the back, to the little house and your there. Awesome front screened in porch! Kid-friendliness: Hamburgers, Hot dogs, and homemade fresh pizzas you can watch them make. TV usually with a sports game on. Sometimes music on the front lawn. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps that I recall. Only parking curb.

This is an excellent local spot for enjoying an upscale burger or pizza without breaking the bank. I’m a big fan of their burgers, which are always cooked to perfection, and they offer an incredible variety of toppings. My wife loves their pizzas, especially the gluten-free crust option. The kids' menu is also impressive and offers much better value than any fast food place, with choices like Bacon Mac and Cheese or oversized hot dogs! The drink selection includes a range of domestic favorites as well as local beers and ciders.
This restaurant is fantastic! The food was delicious, and the prices are unbeatable. You can choose to sit indoors, at the bar, or outside. I've been there twice in the past week!
What an incredible place! The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is truly wonderful. Each time we visit, we feel right at home. The food is exceptional, and Chef Wes is outstanding. The bartenders are exceptionally friendly, and on Thursday nights, there's even a DJ playing vinyl in the front courtyard. Overall, a fantastic experience!
Excellent food—by far the best asparagus I've had in a long time. However, the wait to be seated was unreasonably long, and not due to a large number of guests ahead of us. They’ve clearly invested a lot into making the place look nice, but they really need to put some money into a heater near the door!
