Cute little place, just a short walk from the beach. Nice atmosphere had some live music while we were there. Our waiter was friendly the food was good. No complaints from us. View all feedback.
What Drunken F doesn't like about Castaway's Sports Grill Singer Island:
The Music from Victoria was 5star however the service wasn’t present. I walked in and asked where to go for service; a waitress told me to sit anywhere and someone would find me… apparently I wasn’t noticed. 10 minutes later no one came to serve me… (i shouldn’t have to look twice for service or ask someone again to take my money so I left) Reply I think it shows a businesses opportunity to grow when they’re willing... Great local option. Good beer selection and service were above expectations. We had a small problem with our pizza order, which we did not even notice, but the server and the staff noticed and without even swapping them with a second pizza, despite the fact that we were perfect with the original pizza. The environment was very cold and still good for our children. We can dine again during our stay or visit in the future.
We ate here our last night on vacation and everything was great. We loved the boneless wings and the pizza was good. Manager Tommy was so nice and held a few times at the table to check us out. They also organized free bingo, which had so much fun! They ran it funny and friendly. We won two T-shirts to return to NJ. I would definitely recommend Castaway for a casual and affordable lunch or dinner.
We ordered the works pizza and were very happy. There were generous amounts of all toppings and it tasted great. The staff seemed to work together as one, to show where it looked like attention was needed and they were pleasant all the time. The volume on the music was too loud for our ears, but we had to compensate earplugs. This could be a factor in someone else's choice of this restaurant. All pizzas are 12 and two of us had a nice meal divided during one. So these are coke products. Parking is free. Many beers are available, some quite strange for the adventurous.
We loved this place when he was owned by DAS. We have done our best to keep an open mind, as they have passed on to be castaways, but I feel like it has become a little worse every time we have visited. They have probably taken out 10 beer cocks, reduced the place for sitting by placing them in a large closed office space and several rather large and unnecessary sculptures / statue / figures all over the place that do not seem to make much sense. They have now completely closed the kitchen while it is open and mostly visible to the guests to observe them, prepare the pizzas and such. The pizzas are hit or missed. Sometimes they are still very good, other times they are burned and not very good at all. The servers are usually very young and often seem more interested in socialization than doing their jobs. This leads to many cases of waiting longer than you need for the service. Last night I put an order for a drink (we had already served a flight, so I placed an order for a full drink), and after about 10 minutes watching our servers run around, clear a few tables, talk to other staff, go to the back room, and so on... we finally stopped a waitress to ask about my drink. It had. Been into the system, but our server had not yet poured the drink. The waitress got it for us, but it didn't make any sense that we had to. This is something that has happened several times (or something) when we have visited since it has changed hands.
