Love this place! Great service, friendly staff and yummy food. Had chicken waffle for the 1st time ever and it was yummy but next time I’ll ask for both to be crispier. I was disappointed that the chicken wasn’t crispy but the flavor reminded me of my moms fried chicken. I have enjoyed everything I’ve eaten here AND my picky husband who never like quaint country places loves this one and loves the chicken! View all feedback.
So far, I've indulged in a couple of skillets, and they've been wonderful. The biscuits and gravy on the side are also a treat. The menu features some unique items, combining American Southern and Mexican influences, with offerings like liver and onions, alligator sausage, and even catfish for breakfast! Coming from a household with Scottish-British parents, I'm no stranger to unusual dishes. If you plan on visiting on a Sunday, make sure to arrive before 9 AM, as the church crowd tends to fill up the place, and parking can become a hassle. You might end up waiting an hour for a table. I’ve found that I can sometimes snag a seat at the bar when dining alone. I recently tried the Monte Cristo sandwich, and it was excellent—a great rendition of the classic. The grilled cheese was also outstanding. I sampled the liver and onions, which were decent, but being British, I might argue that mine is better! So far, nothing I've selected from the menu has disappointed me. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making each visit enjoyable. My frequency has been at least every two weeks, sometimes weekly. If you visit on a Sunday and miss the pre-9 AM window, you might as well wait until after 1 or 2 PM to avoid the long lines. Saturdays are generally easier if you go early or later in the afternoon, especially to sidestep the crowds. Dinner hours aren’t as busy, and you can even enjoy a glass of wine with your meal, which is a nice bonus with some good selections to choose from.
Our waitress, Robbie, was incredibly helpful with her suggestions, making the ordering process a breeze. The food was excellent, and Robbie consistently checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this restaurant, and if you're fortunate, you might have Robbie as your waitress too!
Stayed across the street from this gem this weekend while visiting family. Ended up eating here three times in three days. First visit, I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, which was a life-changing experience. It was absolutely delicious! Second visit, I had the Belgian waffle with bacon in the batter and topped with blueberries and whipped cream. Again, delicious! Third visit, dessert for breakfast! I had a slice of the Hank's Harvest pie with a side of eggs. My sister ordered the Lipsmacker brownie waffle. My brother had the apple pie. We've all resolved that Kountry Folks is a new favorite staple on our California road trips. Thank you for the incredible komfort food!
