What Mehr Tucker doesn't like about The Kings Contrivance:
Unfortunately our experience was not good. The seafood soup was old and salty, the when my guest who’s Gluten free asked for a plate of carrots or celery her request was denied. My tuna sashimi was bland and my guests steak was delivered undercooked and when the server was nowhere to be found after waiting for awhile we had to go find someone to take it back to cook it more. Overall our experience was very disappoint... View all feedback.
We really enjoyed our meals here. The crab cakes and stuffed grilled shrimp were delicious. Good selection of appetizers and specials. Love the fried oysters and gazpacho. Desserts were perfectly prepared and presented. Atmosphere is traditional slightly formal. Great service.
I have never been to this restaurant before, but I plan on returning. It was amazing. We had never been before even though it's the oldest restaurant in Columbia. Highly recommend. Service was impeccable, and the manager was nice and thoughtful, checking in on how we were doing and if we needed anything. Top notch
Interesting venue. Nice setting. Service was great. Food was average although it was for an event. I don't know how they do regular dinners. It's definitely a good choice for a event. Nice private setting.
No one wrote down the reservation I made three days in advance. The downstairs dining room smells like mold.
The hearty shellfish bisque was absolutely delicious with generous amounts of crab and shrimp. The delicious softshell crab was among the most tender and meaty that I've ever had. The service was very prompt, friendly, and professional. The ambiance in the spacious, nicely decorated, and beautiful home was warm and inviting. The very good beer and wine selection included oatmeal stout and old world reds. Parking was very convenient.
