simple delicious, affordable Portuguese cuisine with an honest friendly service. right next to the salines of rio maior, an hour of lissabon. it is worth the journey for the food and the view. View all feedback.
I chose the title for this review because that is still for me what makes a good restaurant. you go back and forth because you always have a good time. eating is good, the ambience is good and you tend to be much more. to spend time there as it only needs to eat the meal. So why? the restaurant is located in the salinas, so it is a beautiful place. it is also visited by the natives who come to eat, have a coffee or a break, so it is quite alive. the owner josé, serves them personally and is always friendly, even if he rushed from the feet. eating is very fresh and tasty. at the beginning we order one of its salads, from its own salat wobble etc., very fresh, simple, but delicious. then he has various appetizers. grilled chouriço or morçela a selection of good cheese or only olive and brot. the most important courses are simple but well cooked. we love the lamb aprons, the porco preto (black bum) and the huh is also excellent. he also has canines and seasonal dishes such as fresh wide beans also from his garden, with pork or with bacalhau.(We were there today to eat the last of his wide beans everything is very fresh and made with olive oil, not cooking oil, very important and not always the case in many restaurants. for dessert he has different standard things, but they also seem to taste better. its flan is excellent with an orange taste like its doce de casa, both with less sugar than usual and all homemade naturally. he has local weeping, but we often drink his pressao white wine with blowing, also quite drinkable and less alc. for the quality of eating and a really nice lunch out, the price is more than reasonable, around 15€ per head. during the summer it becomes quite full at weeks. when they speak Portuguese, they can reserve a table if not only arrive early!
