Sushi was good, although some sushis seem to have strange sauces on them. We like the crusty hot role and the Californian role. Service was good, Caiperinhas were also good. The place was quite empty when we went there (although it is the low season). A very compensating thing: We saw a huge cockroache pass and went over the ground while we eat. The quality of the sushi is alright. The rice consistency was not as sticky as expected. The salmon didn’t was tasteless. But the presentation of the sushi was appealing.
The service was good, and they had a reasonable white wine from Chile. However, the sushi itself was a mess. We ordered Chefs Special, which was a gooey mess of fish, rice, Philadelphia, jam, sesame seeds and everything that attracts the taste away from the fish itself. Of the 20+ pieces, none was pure and unttampered with. However, if you want some delightful rest from Brazilian techno-samba, the music was a welcoming experience.
The unthinkable has happened. I found bad sushi in Brazil. Like, really bad. Every single sushi restaurant in Brazil I've previously been to has been absolutely heavenly. Not this one. Oh no. The combinations are uninspired. The fish is low quality and tastes old. The rice — arguably the most important part to get right — tastes bland. The Tequila Sunrise I ordered was just orange juice with waaaay to much tequila (fine, that is unrelated to the sushi). On top of that, it's really expensive. Don't go here.
The taste is really ordinary, I don't know why people are giving good reviews. The rice of sushi was all blended together and lost the freshness. Good sushi doesn't taste like that. The portion was small too, 8 tiny shrimp sushis for 33 reais, I definitely have to think twice before going there next time. Service was cold, the man at the cashier was behaving too casual and cool. He didn't even say thank you when I paid, actually he said nothing, it was me who asked how much I should pay and thanked! And no receipt! Well, there was a clue of the quality: There was only one table dining when I went on a Saturday night.
Sushi is awful. Fish is not fresh and the next day my stomach told me good bye.
