I have now been to Simplesmente twice and it has NOT disappointed yet. The first time, I had some friends in town from the US and I really wanted them to see Santa Tereza. We made the journey up to Santa Tereza on a Wednesday afternoon with a plan: hit 3 bars, Santa Tereza hotel and then go to Lapa. Simplismente was the last of the 3 bars and easily our favorite. So good that we skipped Santa Tereza Hotel and opted to stay here longer. The drinks are such a fair price! A caipirinha for R$12? That is like 4 bucks! The service is great and people are friendly--this place draws a good crowd. It has a rustic, hipstery feel to it. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only thing they could work on, is their 'healthy menu '. They have pizza that looks amazing but really the only thing on the menu for me was an omelette and that isn 't exactly what I want to be eating at night. Good thing I was just there for some drinks ;

Bohemic and lively restaurant/bar in the Santa Teresa quartiers in Rio de Janeiro. Always a cool and relaxed crowd here, the food is typically brazilian and the staff keeps your glasses filled with icecold brazilian beer. While waiting for the food, we leave our table to stand out on the street with our drinks, chatting and joking with Cariocas. The food arrives when we are hungry and the choice spans from delicious pastels (brazilian pies), aipim frito, pizzas, or the traditional rice beans with your meet of choice. It's a very cozy athmosphere any day of the week. A warm recommendation in the heart of Santa Teresa in Rio.
