El Espigon De La Cala

Just go to this restaurant. The freshly cooked fish are superb, the location great. It is just what you hope to find on your travels. Yes the service is truly terrible, and I can’t imagine how they manage to work like they do (but the young waitress, as other reviewers have said, works faster and harder than all the others and the place would fold without her), but you come here to relax, not rush in and out, so just take your time, enjoy the view, and instead of complaining about slow service just instead chat to your family/friends who came with you and marvel at how wonderful life can be. Also, it is great value for what they serve.

Following my last review decided to give this restaurant another try. Service still somewhat erratic but food OK until we ordered berenejenas con miel. The berenjenas tasted salty and I suspected they had been cooked in the same oil as fish. This was proved correct when I bit in to a piece of fried seafood. i hate seafood. I pointed this out to the waiter and instead of apologizing was asked why I didn't like seafood. Unfortunately my wife at more but not all of the berenjenas. When the bill came I asked to speak to El Jefe. I was made to go inside and speak to him at the hatch between the kitchen and restaurant. Whilst I was speaking to him the waiter threw the remaining berenjenas in the waste bin and presented El Jefe with a clean plate. He refused to refund us. At no point did either the waiter or El Jefe apologise for what had happened. It appears that they are too arrogant to admit to a mistake. Charging us half or a chopito would have resolved things amicably, but they do not understand customer service in this place. Never again! Después de mi última crítica decidí darle otra oportunidad a este restaurante. El servicio sigue siendo algo irregular pero la comida está bien hasta que pedimos berenejenas con miel. Las berenjenas sabían saladas y sospeché que las habían cocinado en el mismo aceite que el pescado. Esto resultó correcto cuando mordí un trozo de marisco frito. Odio los mariscos. Se lo señalé al camarero y en lugar de disculparme me preguntaron por qué no me gustaba el marisco. Desafortunadamente mi esposa en más pero no todas las berenjenas. Cuando llegó la factura, pedí hablar con El Jefe. Me obligaron a entrar y hablar con él en la escotilla entre la cocina y el restaurante. Mientras hablaba con él, el camarero tiró las berenjenas restantes a la papelera y le presentó a El Jefe un plato limpio. Se negó a reembolsarnos. En ningún momento ni el camarero ni El Jefe se disculparon por lo sucedido. Parece que son demasiado arrogantes para admitir un error. Cobrarnos la mitad o un chopito habría resuelto las cosas de manera amistosa, pero no entienden el servicio al cliente en este lugar. ¡Nunca

We sat in the sun and had a couple of coffees to break up our coastal stroll. Clearly popular with the locals who were piling in for the fresh fish as we were leaving. Like a lot of places round here the fish is super fresh and simply cooked over charcoal in their little beach shack.

Pasamos por casualidad, pero fue una agradable sorpresa. Pescado fresco cocinado perfectamente en la parrilla, sauté de sabrosas almejas, excelentes anchoas marinadas. Espartano local, pero personal amable y competente. Lo recomiendo mucho si está en la zona.

Hrmos ido a comer el 1 de octubre seis personas. Solo puedo decir que todo espectacular 100%recomendable La comida buenisima, la atención impresionante. Os recomiendo pasar a comer o cenar en algún momento de vuestra estancia en La cala del Moral.
