We passed through flagstaff on a road trip from Phoenix to Zion, and needed a quick breakfast before heading to the Grand Canyon.

Good food, cute atmosphere, terrible service.__The menu warns you that you will have a wait for your food, no problem we were patient in that regard.

I came in tonight, Sept 1st and decided for ribs... i asked the waitress whom i believe is a owner IF THE RIBS ARE FALL OFF THE BONE tinder and she said yes... Now before i give it my review i want to say this was a busy, clean EXTREMELY FRIENDLY local place right on main st... The lady at the cash register sat me and waited on me and by the way she worked and heloed EVERYBODY she has to be a owner. Next even the customers were friendly.... a lady was leaving, asked where im from (heard my Texas accent) said Texas, struck up a conversation about the flooding and left again saying have a good stay in Canada as she walked out. This is where the good part is, The waitress comes over, already brougnt my salad and says welcome to Canada and the lady whi just left bought your meal. I was floored. So now remember a review on food is just that but thr overall experience is also involved. So with that said, the establishment gets a MUCH higher review because the local friendliness and great service made my night and makes me wany to come back, nut skip the ribs. Ok. The ribs came out smothered or drowned in bbq sauce. Next i could NOT pull the bone off! I had to cut them off and if there was no sauce they would have had NO flavor. Boiled ribs.... or something but bottom line is tough no flavor ribs frowned in a sauce. Ok I know... Texas has the BEST BBQ on the planet but i have had some darn good ribs in Canada, look ay a few of my reviews here. Anyway the stuffed potato wad just a half potato with fake bacon bits and cheese.... so please dont think im dogging this great local place... i feel bad writting this because my experiance was so great other than soso ribs, heck she even brought me a bowl of lemon water ti wash my hands... heck that beats a towelet. So. I will go back. I will try something else and I i give it a higher score JUST BECAUSE OF A GREAT LOCAL FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. Something we dont see much anymore.

For the one time I get to stay in Rimbey and receive subsistence for work, I enjoy supporting local businesses because they strive to push harder than those chains out there. James Grill and Sports Lounge was very quiet, but that's expected during this time. Nice to be able to watch the playoffs during my meal, in this odd time. Quiet atmosphere, very friendly server, and very good food! I needed a break from Subway, but wanted something a bit healthier and this place offered a nice Chicken La Bamba which included a salad and baked potato along with side veg. For $21 that's not bad for this small town during this slow time. However, I must rate fairly. A place out in Consort would offer this same type of meal for 25% less, and they're way out east where times are even tougher. $15.99 for a Chicken Parm or Cordon Bleu, Kiev, or Florentine. The menu seemed quite diverse in choices.
