The hotel restaurant has an amazing view and we enjoyed watching the sun go down and disappear from the mountains opposite. Tip: there are outdoor heaters for the tables next to the building which is useful on a cool summer evening. Menu was confusing with many choices and about three different menus. I enjoyed my salmon, but my partner was disappointed with a lack of taste to the wild boar. Staff were friendly. View all feedback.
What Ninfa Montanari doesn't like about Hotel Alpfrieden:
The restaurant is Gilde-rated and I was having the dinner part of my half board at another hotel because the restaurant there closed on Mondays. The starter of snails provencale was absolutely divine, the use of herbs was absolutely masterful so I was realy looking forward to my main course of Zuercher Geschnetzeltes but the veal was overcooked adn teh Roesti soggy. Ther service was good as was the wine list but give... View all feedback.
We went here for dinner on a Saturday and the atmosphere was lovely; very cozy and not at all pretentious. The menu is quite traditional, but both our meals (we ate from the Autumn menu) were delicious! We had also brought along our 6 month old baby who slept most of the time in the pram next to us; all the staff and guests were smiling at him and didn't make us feel at all uncomfortable (which often happens when you bring a baby to a restaurant). We're back in Bettmeralp for a week in winter and can't wait to go back here for a meal or two!
We went there after a long day of hiking. Soups were really delicious and interesting (e.g. tomato cream with gin). The main course - fish (trout) was really good. The restaurant is a bit pricey if you don't choose from a daily menu but well, Swiss prices.
A Gilde rated restaurant that also serves chicken nuggets and croûte au fromage. Went up to Bettmeralp on a sunday, half the restaurants were closed. We were just looking for something cheap and light. They have a lot to choose from, we opted for the light lunch. Cant really comment on their Gilde Menu but we had a lovely time, the waitress took really good care of us. The service was fast and friendly. They have a beautiful terrace with a stunning view.
Typical swiss restaurant in the alp resorts. Was ther in off season and this was the only restaurant which seemed busy. Food was good as was the service. Prices were comparable to other similar restaurants I have visited.
Located on the main street and only a few hundred meters from our chalet it was perfect for dinner for us (Father and son on a men's weekend leaving wife and sisters at home)Customer Service:The German waiter has clearly understood the customer service concept. Anticipated needs and wants before we could express them. Was always present at the right time, helpful and simply SUPER. (If you read this - weiter so, many could learn what customer focus means from you). Nothing less than excellent. I would strongly recommend you go there to experience what heartfelt customer service feels like.Food:We had fondue Chinoise (meat fondue) which was not only served fast but came with as much/many as you can eat French fries (man they were good) and rice, selection of sauces and fruit. All was delicious and nicely arranged. Good quality food and a great wine based broth - top!Ambience:Traditional restaurant like you find them everywhere in Bettmeralp. Nice and basic without appearing bare or cold. Just a nice warm inviting traditional restaurant. Conclusion:Having tried a few restaurants in the area this one was clearly the best with strong customer orientation and very good food. A must on your Bettmeralp restaurant list!!
