We discovered this place during walking on the port of Riec sur Belon and we reserved a table for the next day. The location is amazing on the river, the service was good and professional. the food was excellent and very fresh, we enjoyed the seafood platter and the very good atmosphere. I recommend this place who is cited in the Michelin guide for a good reason, for sure we come back. View all feedback.
What petesaund doesn't like about Chez Jacky:
This restaurant is supposed to be well looked at for its crust and Coquillage, as shows the large number of tables with cold seafood plate. On a personal level, she does not speak as it is a work of love. The soup de poisson lacked freshness and quality We decided however to order the spider crab, and it was certainly not fresh, but undoubtedly earlier cooked a day to provide for the masses. Port de Belon was a stop with a small group tour in Brittany with Best of France Travels. The setting was beautiful, including walking along the paths outside Chez Jacky, but the main attraction was the oysters. Certainly a recommendation.
Chez Jacky has a mention in the Michelin Guide, so we were expecting something special. One of our party went for a main of 12 oysters, two types, and was happy with that. I would have gone for the advertised moule mariniere but was told it was not available as the muscles were too small (had a very acceptable plate of moule in Quimper just 2 days later). Decided on the 18 euro with crevettes to start. Reasonable but nothing special, weak sauce and no bread provided to soak up the sauce. Wife and daughter in law went for same 28eruo meal with oysters to start (This is clearly Chez Jacky's speciality). The main came on the 28 e meal cod and vegetables. A small slab of cod, cooked, but with nothing to recommend it, no exceptional tastes, hey boiled fish, and the very few vegetables almost as an insignificant under dressing. The pudding were fine, but nothing exceptional. Staff were friendly and efficient. The ambience is excellent but why let down the experience with (except for the oysters) what was mediocre food.
