I pre ordered and was quite surprised to be asked about additional items since the usual branch I frequent is in Natomas. They offer a small side of salad or rice per each chicken order which was interesting. The food was great and it was consistent with the other branch. Since I preordered while doing errands I got a bit distracted so they called me a few time after I hit the hour mark from my phone order. Inside wa... View all feedback.
Korean food is my favorite so I was excited to try out Ttobongee. The menu is very similar to Vons which is my go-to Korean fried chicken place so I had high expectations. We decided to go with the signature Ttobongee Chicken on the menu so that we could try the namesake. It comes with pickled jalapeños and pickled radish, and your choice of rice or salad. Then we also got a side of cheese balls, and then cheese fries for our kids. The fries came out first. It was in a big paper bag and then they give the cheese powder on the side so you can add as much or little as you like (it's $1 extra). But it's a TON of fries!! Very good value. The paper bag allows you to close it and shake it up easily. The fries were cooked nicely too and I liked that they were thin cut. Then the cheese balls came out. The outside is nice and crispy, similar to Korean corn dogs but less breading. The inside was gooey and reminded me more of mochi! So good. Finally the chicken came out after that, but everything was super fast, maybe about 10 minutes for everything to come out! The chicken was a beautiful golden brown and cooked so nicely. I liked that the skin wasn't too heavy and it had a nice crunch. The meat was juicy and tender. Normally we like boneless but he said we couldn't get it in this flavor so we just got drumsticks instead. It was so good in the pickled jalapeño sauce, I needed more of it! Overall very nice cook on the chicken but it's definitely on the plain side so you need that sauce or some more flavorful sides like kimchi to go with it. It's a small place but several booths to sit at. They have delicious drink options like Korean flavored milks and I even saw a poster for kimchi beer. Overall pretty solid place for fast casual Korean food. I hope to try more flavors to get a better sense of comparison to other Korean fried chicken places, but I'm glad they have this type of option in Folsom!
One of the best places to eat for its value and quality of food. Their chicken is always made so well and everyone who works there is really welcoming. This is the one place in the Folsom area that I actively recommend people try out. Hands down the best Korean fried chicken I have had.
This place is absolutely terrific, we've been there a couple of times and tried different flavors of chicken. Definitely a must. Oh, and the kimchee is bomb!
Excited to find a Korean spot. Ordered Yang Nyum Chicken special, Jalapeno Chicken, The crispy, fried shrimp, fried mandoo, from here. The crispy was a little oily and maybe it was a combo of fried shrimp and chicken but overall cooked all the way through and was pretty good. The Yang Nyum was good. The sides it came with were pretty good even the kimchi was great. Overall hit my cravings for Korean food. Glad I came to this place.
Wonderful food! Second time I have been here and it is still an amazing experience. Must try!
