Land Ocean (lo) Folsom - Ridley

We visited recently for an anniversary celebration, and this place was great. We went during the week, before 6pm they have a great happy hour. The drinks were delicious and the portions good. We stayed longer and we're still hungry, so got some dinners of the regular menu that we're fairly priced and very tasty. Looking forward to a future visit!

I wanted to love this place as much as their sister restaurants Sienna and South Fork Grill, which are both AMAZING restaurants, but the food and service at Land Ocean was disappointing. My biggest issue; however, was the food. Our jumbo shrimp cocktail plate had beautiful presentation but the shrimp were so chewy and oddly dry, it was like trying to eat rubber. The lobsters were cooked well but they had little flavor and the broccolini it was served with was not cooked. Lastly my scallops had a sandy grit in every bite, a peach sauce that tasted horrible, and a risotto that was beyond mushy.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Service was super friendly and made us feel comfortable, we were able to order very quickly and got our food fast too. The food was mind blowing, life changing and eye opening. I feel like this food could cure blindness and heal sickness. My life has forever been changed.

The best happy hour in Folsom, in my opinion. The slider, onion rings, artichoke, and crab cakes are my favorite. I haven't gotten to try everything yet, so that list may grow! They have good drink specials for happy hour too! If I had to give one criticism, it would be that they are a pretty nice restaurant, upscale casual, they have a full service bar.... with pepsi. Full service bars that have pepsi are like nails on a chalkboard. But hey, if that's all I have to complain about, it's pretty great.

They didn't have the ribs as we noted on their website. Great service super staff!
