The Windmill is a longtime, family-run roadside gem in Longtown, SC, known for consistently excellent, homemade seafood, juicy burgers and generous portions. Affordable prices, attentive servers, a hearty salad bar and personal pitchers of tea complement a cozy, vintage atmosphere that welcomes families and locals alike. Fried dishes are crisp and non-greasy and hand-cut onion rings are a standout; fries divide opinion. The interior shows its age and occasional front-desk brusqueness can mar an otherwise warm, worthwhile experience.

No need traveling to the beach for seafood. Windmill has them beat hands down.
Great Food and excellent service
The food was outstanding, and our server was exceptional, but the hostess could use some improvement. The older woman at the front desk was quite rude. When she took our name for a party of over nine, she rolled her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. It was 96 degrees outside, and we were instructed to wait outdoors. I attempted to bring my 8-week-old baby inside to enjoy the air conditioning, but she shouted at me and insisted we stay in our car. Although the restaurant was busy, the wait wasn’t an issue; it was her attitude that was bothersome. Apart from that, we had a pleasant experience overall.
Good food. Great staff. Love the clam chowder.
The food is consistently outstanding. I love that they offer personal pitchers of tea. The salad bar is a fantastic touch. The interior has a lovely vintage atmosphere.
