Northern Dumpling Kitchen Xìng Lóng Xuān

Make sure to visit this spot with your Asian friends! It's a beloved choice among the local Asian community on weekends, and during the weekdays, you'll find many professionals stopping by for a quick lunch. We spent only $40 on brunch for seven adults and a two-year-old! You definitely have to try the pan-fried dumplings and the steamed pork and mushroom dumplings. The vegetarian dishes are packed with flavor, featuring garlic, and they complement both the dumplings and the tea perfectly. Be sure not to miss the well-loved deep-fried green onion pancakes too!

The dumplings at this restaurant are amazing! They have a great selection at very reasonable prices. I’ve sampled various types—fried, steamed, and boiled—and all of them were tasty. However, the other menu items don’t quite compare to what I’ve experienced at other restaurants in Shanghai and Beijing.

This is my favorite dumpling spot in Richmond Hill. The steamed dumplings are packed with flavor and juicy, while the fried ones are crispy and delicious. I especially love the wrappers. The soup dumplings are on par with what you can find at most restaurants, and the beef noodle soup is also quite tasty.

The prices have risen considerably compared to a few years ago, much like other restaurants, but unfortunately, the quality of the food has decreased. The dishes tend to be somewhat oily, and the basket of dumplings was a bit overcooked. On the bright side, the service was outstanding; the staff was courteous and friendly.

Fantastic food! While the restaurant's ambiance might not be top-notch, the dishes are incredibly tasty and fairly priced. The dumplings are juicy and fresh, with a perfect balance between the filling and the wrapper. Among my other favorites are the spicy-salty fried fish and long green beans. If you’re looking for dessert, don’t miss the fried banana, which is served with an ice bath to complement the honey syrup drizzle.
