We ordered 3 chiraishi don. They came along with three bowls of miso soup which was very nice. The quality of the sashimi was good, though our stomach felt a tiny bit uncomfortable directly after eating it. But the amount was generous and we had a great time eating it. It would have been even better if they chopped up all the ingredients and put it on top of the rice instead of keeping them whole (just personal prefe... View all feedback.
What Jenny Maurer doesn't like about Hug Sushi Take-out Richmond Hill:
This is my first time to order take out from Hug. I ordered at the shop and waited 20mins for my assorted sashimi, sushi roll platter mix 80pcs . The quality was ok and the texture of the rice was right. Their fish was fresh too. The price and quality were reasonable. If you crave for fresh made sushi, rolls and sashimi to go, this place is quite affordable. View all feedback.

I give this place 3.5 stars. I ordered 807, the 80 piece sashimi, sushi, roll tray; the salmon sashimi was sliced thick and the platter was well presented. I thought for $73.45 (tax included) it was priced well but there were a lot of rolls that I wasn?t a fan of (california roll, dragon roll, cucumber avocado roll). The selection of sashimi was limited, mostly salmon and different cuts of tuna. I?d say for picky eaters this is a great place to order from because they have the most basic/popular sashimi and rolls in their fairly inexpensive combination trays.
I ordered the Sashimi-Sushi-Roll (40 pieces) from this sushi takeout restaurant for the first time. The fish was fresh, and the sushi rice was delicious with a wonderful texture. However, the rolls were slightly falling apart. I really enjoyed their shrimp sushi, as the shrimp was thicker than what I've had at other restaurants, and it didn't have that off-putting fishy taste. The salmon sashimi was fantastic as well, with a substantial thickness.
This is my second time ordering, and it was just as great as the first. I decided to get the same dish again, so I snapped a photo of the tray this time. As a first-time customer, I noticed that this place operates as a walk-up takeout window once you step inside. The menu is small but offers a wide selection of rolls. I was a bit surprised that they didn’t have tempura, but it makes sense given the size of the restaurant; it would likely make the whole place smell greasy. They really excel at what they do, and I found the tray I ordered (#812) to be a great value. Everything was fresh, with a nice variety of rolls offering different flavors. I think I may have found my new favorite spot, although I'll need to get my tempura from somewhere else. Just a tip: be sure to place your order in advance because they seem to be quite busy, and you might not get your order at your desired time otherwise.
The prices here are reasonable considering the quality of the food. I’ve heard numerous recommendations for this place over the years. I visited for a meeting related to my side business and was looking for something to eat. I ordered the black dragon roll and the spicy salmon maki, and both were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. My order was prepared quickly, which was impressive. I’ll likely return and try a platter next time.
