Quick friendly service, great food (Great Chinese/Western fare) good prices. After reading a lot of positive reviews for Dickens Café on a recent date night my wife and I went to “The Dick” with great expectations. Far from hard times we had a great time as this venue is anything but a bleak house. View all feedback.
What PLTJ doesn't like about Dickens Cafe:
We decided to go to Richland Mall to check out the different restaurants. Hongfar for Cantonese, the Bbq, Ichiban and so unfortunate for us, we walked into Dickens. Baked pork chop in Portuguese sauce over rice. Oh my, it was tasteless, gooey, greasy and disgusting. This is my first time to have the dinner here even though it has been opened for many years. I have the new year eve dinner with my family. Only set menu available and the price is mid-range when compared with all other Christmas dinner. Typical HK style for the steak to come with rice or spaghetti. A lot of memories came back from the food. The quality is fine and the service is average. Although it was classified as high end HK style restaurant, no more now as many choices available everywhere. In general, if you are looking for the fusion, here is a good place to try both Chinese and western food.

Chicken and ham in white sauce with Spaghetti was at least edible with a few very tiny strips of chicken and ham. The so called borscht soup was a sugary watery broth. My wife had one bite of the rice dish and pushed it away. The waitress asked if we wanted to box it up to take home. My answer was a hard no. And commented that it was so bad as to be unnatural . We should have clued into the fact that we were the third party at the place. Run past the entrance. Don 't even stop to look at the menu.
Phenomenol food and great service here. Love their tea-time specials that also include drinks too! its the in-place!!!
We have followed this restaurent since they opened years ago and now relocated .Always a nice place for lunch , dinner or afternoon tea a good deal . We enjoyed the different spaghetti dishes , especially the baked pork chop one . Set menu with combination is a good deal. Steak is good too. , better price than a western steak house.
