Richmond guu post a Saturday special, oyster buck a shuck, on website, and says oysters goes very fast, customers should come earlier to take. Acturally, seriver told me they don't have oyster at all.
This restaurant plays loud music and seating are not comfortable. Foods were so so, beyond expectation from a Guu restaurant. Won't go there again.
We love the BBQ fish dishes in Guu. We can't tell the difference, but it's just outstandingly good.
Guu has always showcased great authentic izikaya bar food and terrific sushi that's worth the drive from Surrey. We save it for special occasions when we want higher then normal quality of Japanese cuisine.
I've been to Guu Richmond many many times, for both lunch and dinner, but after this visit i'll never return, at least not for dinner. This is on a saturday night, and there were all but 3 staff on the floor. Service was majorly lacking, i've to ask 3 times for everytime and wait forever to get what i need. All the staff on floor were young teenagers who obviously never had serving experience. They were rude and seems to not care about their patrons, which is not the norm for Guu as staff are usually japanese. The chef looks frustrated as well, and the food was just ok. After we paid, the server actually LOOKED at the receipt to see how much we tipped right in front of us, which i think it's incredibly rude and i've never seen that before. Very disappointed.
