I had their Free Range Hainan Chicken Meal with soup and upgraded to yellow oil rice for an extra dollar. The meal cost $15.85 before tips. This place is decent and serves traditional Cantonese food including steamed tilapia and has so many types of chicken available. The presentation was good. The soup was delicious with pork bones and meat and tasted very homemade and hearty. The yellow oil rice was soft, fresh and... View all feedback.
What anto C doesn't like about Specialty Chicken Wonton House:
Empress chicken isn't very tasty and more bony than Neptune's. Congee is very watery. No wonder, there was hardly any customers dining in at 12:30 pm. Even take-out, only saw 1 person order. BTW, their prices on the website is not up to date with their menu in store. View all feedback.
I recommend this place if you have a smaller party (2 – 4 people). Despite the unexciting name of the restaurant, their specialty Soy Sauce Chicken is worth checking out and makes a great Chinese New Year dish. I like their other chicken dishes as well, although they may be more suitable if you have a keen palate for Cantonese food. The Deep Fried Squab makes a great alternative for chicken, although it is a little pricier. For greens, the Pea Shoot Stir Fry with Garlic is well executed. The price here have gone up a lot the last year. However, it is still a good choice if you don’t have a big party for largely portioned dishes.
This place is Chinese fast food. Their Haianese chicken was very good. Service was typical of Asian restaurants. Overall, the food was good, price was good and the place was pretty busy.
Free Range Chicken Menu<br/ <br/ An early Sunday lunch a table for 2<br/ <br/ Tried their Free Range Chicken Set Lunch half FR Chicken (we chose Empress FR Chicken, supposed to be treated with wine), came with a bowl of chicken soup (you can substitute the soup w. a drink), a plate of Bean Curd with Veggies, 2 bowls of rice.<br/ <br/ Overall taste was ok. It may be my own opinion that I do not like their chicken to be served cold directly from the fridge. Plus, I could not find any 'wine ' taste in the chicken at all.<br/ <br/ I would prefer going to Prata Man.
No specialty chicken. Chicken dishes average, ma po tofu is good, service is ok, but prices a bit high
I have to be honest that every time I planned to try this restaurant, I couldn’t help myself to pass by it and go to the Shanghai restaurant next to it. The signage is actually pretty attractive since not many restaurant use chicken as their theme. Ching Pin Free Range Chicken is one of their signature. Nicely done but not very outstanding since there are lots of restaurant in Vancouver serve yummy chicken dishes… The price is reasonable. Everything is good, though not outstanding.<br/ <br/ Recommend to those of you who love chicken.
