First time here and it's a unique experience didnt know richmond had a place like this dinner and a show. Firstly cooking service sucks. Reservation at 7:30 didn't seat us till 8. Ordered asap and still no food we had to wait so long just to be fed. 9pm still no food. Expecting to eat at 7:30 and still waiting for food at 9pm is not a good experience. Don't come here hungry and for a quick meal it will take ages! The servers however were very attentive when filling tea and changing plates but I wish the food came faster. Oyster motoyaki $5 each) super delicious, flavouring was there and super juicy and yummy. It was small though I wish it was bigger oysters. 10 10. Special course for 2 $118) this came with salad, lobster miso soup, got 2 choices of seafood, salmon steak, 2 meat, noodles, veggies and dessert. Lobster tail, scallop, salmon steak this was good flavour, nicely seasoned perfectly cooked. The salmon steak could've had more seasoning but the lobster tail and scallops were outstanding. 8 10. Lobster miso soup good, super flavourful and nice pieces of baby lobster inside the soup. Nice amount of tofu in there too. 8 10. Angus sliced rib eye, angus rib eye steak nicely seasoned and nicely cooked. The rib eye was rolled on garlic and green onion and it was nicely done. 8 10. Noodles assorted veggies these were delicious perfectly seasoned and yummy. Highly recommend the noodles! 9 10 Dessert vanilla icecream Overall not worth the wait. Despite the food being decent the wait is just worth it at all. Our chef we got was also not interactive as the other chefs

I 've never had to leave a review on FB for a restaurant but seriously DO NOT EAT HERE Last night 's dining experience was by far the worst I have ever had. I cried while I ate because of the harassment from the other diners and the awful service. It took the restaurant 55 minutes before bringing me something other than a green salad. I told the waitress I was extremely unhappy with the slow service and shortly after I was finally served. If I had not said anything, then I would have had to wait over 1.5 hours since the chef had no regards for us at the table. Not even a hi and no warning of how long the wait was going to be. During my wait, another diner, a bald man sitting next to me, started to pick a fight with me and said, You need to chill, this is an art form. Tell me... what art form is this??? There was no cooking show at all. Just a dude taking two metal spatulas and slapping food together. I repeat, there was NO SHOW. I have been to countless teppanyaki places and every place had at least a short cooking fire show. Nope, not here. Mind you the cheapest meal here for 2 is $118. I continued to wait and the only reason why I got food at 7:55PM was because I had b hed out the staff about the slow service. 55 minutes wait with only 1 tiny bowl of underwhelming salad. For some reason, the remainder of the night, the other 6 diners at the same table as me proceeded to stare at me and make me feel extremely uncomfortable. I knew they were staring because when I looked up at them, they would look away. It got to a point where I had to say really loudly, I don 't understand why everyone is looking at me. They finally stopped staring at me and ate their food. This whole experience made me CRY while I was eating. The staff did nothing to step in to resolve this issue. Kanpeki did NOT do a cooking show. They have extremely rude customers. They have poor customer service and logistics. Not once did any of the servers or chef say to us that there will be a long wait of over 45 minutes 1 hour before you could have a bite of food. Awful night all around. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Love the chef show during cooking, and the food quality is excellent, as well the service is very attentive even when the restaurant is very busy, LIKE!Parking: Carpool if you can!

My husband and I ordered the meat meal combo and wasabi octopus salad to share for dinner. The combo is right portion for two and the chef is skilled and attentive. Overall service is quick and friendly, but the octopus salad is not very fresh or we are allergic to the milk pudding served at the end, otherwise I will give a five star.
