We came here after failing at getting into the ever busy Shanghai River restaurant. We were actually glad at the end that we came here. The place was also packed with Chinese patrons. They didn't have the dim sum carts like other restaurants. We ordered dim sum from their menu. The hum bao with minced pork and green beans was very good. The service wasn't great but not bad either. We'll come back here again next time... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shanghai House:
This restaurant is just a skip, hop and a jump south of the Brighouse Terminal of the Canada Line. I found the premises clean and inviting. Service as up to par and the food tasty. Unlike most Chinese establishments in metro Vancouver both Visa and MasterCard are welcome. View all feedback.
My mother and I always used to come here for Shanghai-style lunches because it was conveniently located near Richmond Centre and there was rarely a wait.
We had a big group and they were able to seat us in a semi-private area towards the back of the restaurant.
I was slightly disappointed by the xiao long baos, which I would rate 2 out of 5. However, the rest of the food, service, ambiance, and value were all excellent, earning a rating of 4 out of 5. The xiao long baos had thin skins, but everything else about the restaurant was great.
This is the second time we came to Shanghai House while visiting Richmond. The reason being, there are no lines! The service is fast and food is decent.
