What Sallie Ernser doesn't like about Richport Chinese Restaurant:
I came here today with my family for lunch and the food has always been ok and service too. I would say try this place if you are around this area but sometimes the parking is horrible. View all feedback.
Limited menu, moderate portion. Chinese soup de jour is fine, but very small quantity. No service to speak of. Quite efficient, but lack enthusiasm.
The meal was simple but in large quantity. The szechuan Beef had a slight spiciness to it which made it nice. Fast service when I was there.
Having just flown in this afternoon, we wanted to divert the little messieurs ' attention away from Burgers. Knowing that fried rice and crispy calamari go down well with the junior critics, we were convinced on seeing that this place was full of dining Chinese ex pats and visitors. As Cantonese cuisine goes, I felt like I was back visiting Hong Kong! The calamari was succulent and tender, while enshrouded in what can only be described as crispy pillows with chili and garlic Divine! The Dai Shen Szechuan chicken had the right amount of refreshing heat dappled sauce, along with crunchy celery and zucchini pieces. Master adventurous even fought the tears and just kept eating. My choice, and favorite dish was the chili green beans and pork. If you ever come across a chili fan, who claims to not like green beans, just give them this dish. The mixture of green beans fried in XO sauce, with tiny explosions of salty pork was 'almost vege ' bliss. The waitress was worried that we hadn 't ordered enough, but when the plates came out it was clear that we had enough food for at least another, if not two more people. Perhaps big appetites would have expected more, but our family only ordered one dish for each member and we still left with take away boxes. Authentic, generous and inexpensive. Just remember to take cash with you, as they don 't accept any form of card payment.
Love this spot. Staff is super friendly. Menu is awesome and prices can't be beat in Richmond. Close to my work so I can phone my order in for a pick up.
