One of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited in the Richmond area. The food is tasty.Their roast duck and BBQ pork is highly recommended. As this is a very popular restaurant, advance reservations is suggested.Once the orders for the food are placed the service is fast.Portions are big.Prices are reasonable compared to similar Chinese restaurants. I tried to contact the restaurant on the phone to inquire what their hours of operation on a Sunday, would you believe all I managed to get was an automated outgoing message mentioning that they were unable to answer the phone. Although the restaurant touts itself as a BBQ we found their roasted pig just "so-so". The BBQ prices are almost at a par with the high end Chinese restaurants in Richmond, where's the incenti... So this is a place that I’ve been going to from time to time with my colleagues for lunch whenever we’re in the area (and sometimes even when we’re not! . They are very popular and seem to be the go to spot for tradesmen of all sorts. It’s possible to get a table here for lunch without a reservation, but next to impossible for dinner. ALWAYS make a reso if you plan to have dinner here, otherwise don’t even bother going!
My brothers and I are always terrible at planning for Mother's Day. We either can't agree on a restaurant until it's too late to make reservations, or we attempt to cook a meal and end up with a disaster on our hands. But this year, I thought I had the perfect plan. Instead of going out to eat, we would host a high tea party for our mom and grandmothers. After all, how hard could it be to make tea sandwiches? Unfortunately, my plan hit a snag when I accidentally took my mom and grandmothers out for high tea the week before Mother's Day. With only a few days left until the big day and no dinner reservation in sight, we were left wondering what to do next.
Great family style restaurant!. I've been to Master Hung BBQ a few times and everytime I go they have seafood and dishes which rival large chain restaurants like Kirin. I like the family atmosphere and friendly staff. For some authentic chinese food and delicious bbq pork, I would recommend this little place in Richmond
Last summer, my friends and I went on a study abroad trip to China. To celebrate our friendship and the end of our Chinese class for the quarter, we decided to dine out at a Chinese restaurant. We initially planned to go to a different spot in Richmond, but after some research, I discovered Master Hung's. It was the most affordable option, open late, and the highest-rated Chinese restaurant in Richmond. The restaurant was easy to find, but parking was limited. I recommend visiting later in the evening when the nearby medical clinic is closed and their parking is available. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a room full of Chinese patrons and familiar smells that reminded us of our time in China. Despite the restaurant being cash-only, the host was accommodating when we asked if they accepted American currency. We were seated promptly and ordered the 3-person combination meal, which included a BBQ platter, a hot pot, and Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. Rice had to be ordered separately but was affordable. We were impressed with the delicious tea served before our meal, which brought back fond memories. The BBQ platter, particularly the duck, was a standout, with crispy skin and flavorful meat. The pork dishes were also excellent, with one being sweet and creamy, and the other layered and tender. The Chinese broccoli was flavorful but a bit heavy, so we recommend pairing it with something acidic. The hot pot was unexpected but enjoyable, featuring stinky tofu and fish with chicken in broth. The staff checked on us regularly and even engaged us in conversation in Chinese. Despite some confusion over the bill due to currency conversion, we were able to communicate effectively. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Have Canadian cash on hand and brush up on your Chinese language skills for an immersive experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating, making for an enjoyable dining experience.
