I've been wanting a delicious pineapple bun with a generous portion of butter for quite some time now. I finally had the opportunity to try this place.
Tried out this new restaurant a few months back on my last trip to Richmond and Vancouver.
The plan on this day was to have the pineapple bun with butter, as a certain member of the group wanted this..

I was so happy that someone took me over there for breakfast.
Few days ago I went with a friend to the “KD restaurant” in Richmond. It was surprisingly empty. We thought that this was because it was still too early for dinner (around 5:30 pm). We ordered baked (?) Ground Pork with Salt Fish, Eggplant in a Clay Pot and Baked Seafood in Cream Sauce. It was a bit odd that the server asked us to pay already before we got any of our ordered dishes. We explained to ourselves that she probably was at the end of her shift (true) and another server would take over (wrong). Later, our dishes were served by the manager (chef?) instead. The dishes were pretty hot. The eggplants not bad, just a bit too neutral (eggplants a always neutralizing plenty of seasoning). The seafood in cream sauce was disappointing neutral (I was able to compare well since I ate a similar dish just few weeks before). Usually, seafood is contributing to the taste of the dish; but this dish was totally neutral – in order to get some taste my friend used a bit chilli sauce while I added some taste with soy sauce. The ground pork with salt fish (a choice by my friend) tasted quite interesting. I had the impression that the pork tasted a bit like corned meat; but the salt fish added a special note to that flavour. A recommendation to those who want to try that dish for the first time: Mix the meat of the salt fish well with the ground pork to get the full taste and eat it with rice to buffer the saltiness of the fish; the fish alone is terribly salty. After we finished with the meal we realized in a talk with the manager that they had already closed! They close at 6, now it was already 6:30 pm. This is the first time that I experienced that kind of hospitality; other restaurants were not that kind and humbled – they would have try to force the customers out ASAP. We really appreciated that. It’s a pity that they were closing so early (although they were opening early too). My friend told me that they were longer open before.Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal. And it’s certainly worth to eat there.3.5 out of 5
