Lovely service and good wine but, unfortunately, two of us who shared the chicken meal ended up with gastrointestinal issues…..one of us having to get on a plane at 10am the next morning. For a $500 meal for 4, I would have expected surety in the quality of the food. And the live music, as much as it was welcomed, it was just too loud for the space and deterred quiet conversations. Safely, not my best Fairmont experi... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Globe Yvr Fairmont Vancouver Airport:
we have made it a tradition to have a meal in the globe when we pick up from the family or even sometimes families. eating is fabulous and the staff is great. it was great to see that they were able to keep employees in the last few years, even if they had to shut down completely for a period. my favorite was always the clubhouse, but I broke tradition and tried the hamburger on a brezel bun and it was excellent. man... Had a Laie and YVR and used the opportunity to pick up dinner with former colleagues. Globe certainly sees the part and the service was very attentive and personal. That means I did not find the crab bisque and the crab cakes to be from superior taste or quality to my favorite food restaurants in Toronto. It can be a case to be too complicated with the variety of flavors and flavors, and in the end the sum was less than the parts. Can't beat the airport Glam Vibe and service was very good, but the prices are high and the food quality just doesn't justify it.
Great lounge music! Food was good but we were surprised no bread or anything was offered with our soup and salads. We had to ask for crackers. Waitress was knowledgeable, which we appreciated.
Great location in the Airport where quality of food and a number of tasty beverage options may only exist. Karla, our server was great.
The service was very good and friendly, the room is always enjoyable, but the food was quite average and seems to have slipped recently. The beet salad was adequate but very small. Two of us had the chicken and both were quite dry.
They did it right. Quality seafood, prompt fill ups, excellent service by staff. Everyone in my party was impressed. This was our first Easter Brunch out as family and we really didn't know what to expect. They had mussels, clams, large prawns in half shells and even dungeness crab. We loved the chocolate fountain, trifle and cheesecake. There was just enough variety of desserts for every taste. If you asked for tea, they brought it to you in a generous self serving carafe. The only suggestion I have is the hot food. Some in our party didn't care for cold seafood so went straight for the hot food. They felt there wasn't enough variety. Maybe some more hot vegetable dishes? or a stew of some kind? But everything was lovely and service can be commended. Thank you for a lovely experience. We will come back. It should be noted that there is someone in our party who is seriously allergic to peanuts. Lots of options for him here and no problems to report of afterwards
