We went for lunch and tried many dishes. Overall we liked the meal but for some of the dishes we preferred it at other restaurants. Like the water cooked spicy fish szechuan style we prefer at another place. We did enjoy their stir fried pea tips, sweet and sour pork, pickled veggies stir fried with pork and glass noodles, fried chicken with chili and thei shrimp fried rice. The service was ok...we did get 2 free dishes though as we ordered a lot of food.
North China dishes. Taste on the heavier side. First time here and food surprisingly good. Rather quiet so services were friendly and attentive. Ample parking
Good Chinese food with a lot of variety and interesting dishes. The tomato and flour soup was my favourite and the lamb dishes. Dumplings were excellent as well. Good dessert selection especially the sugar coated yam.
Had to do a double take to check if I was reviewing the right restaurant. Was at a strip mall just close-by for an errand that took way longer than my planned time. I found myself window shopping along the Alexandra Road which hosts some of the most famous and infamous) restaurants in Richmond. Because of COVID19, some of the restaurants probably have decided to close down dine-in as many of them appeared to be closed at 11AM on a Sunday. I then stumbled upon on the Emperor's Kitchen which used to be a famous Cantonese style Dim Sum place but no more. It was clearly open so I went in. My kids and I were the only people there at 11AM. Usually, I would have kindly apologized and left but stayed this time. It worked out well surprisingly as my kids had no one to bother and vice versa. Best of all, food was actually good and inexpensive by RICHMOND's standard, mind you). $58 dollars for 5 dishes they had a special where you get a free dish after $50 dollars and add $1 dollar for another dishes) It was a wholesome lunch and dinner), and somewhat made up the day.
