My wife ordered the fish tacos, which were quite disappointing, featuring large chunks of tough fish. This outing was special as my son and his fiancé took us out to celebrate their engagement, along with her parents. When the bill arrived, which was $270, I handed my wife some cash to pay. Unfortunately, Amanda, our server, made a mistake and only gave her $300 back. About ten minutes later, Amanda returned and asked if I was satisfied with the amount I had given her. I was confused, as we always tip generously. She then asked if she had done something wrong, which made me feel embarrassed. I believe it was inappropriate for her to confront me about it at all. In the end, we left an additional 20% tip, but I felt uncomfortable by the whole situation and think such confrontations should be avoided. You should simply be grateful for what you receive.
