Contribute FeedbackA recent group booking at the restaurant resulted in disappointing service when multiple issues arose with drinks orders, including a mix-up with Diet Coke. The waiter's rude and dismissive attitude left the group feeling unwelcome, prompting them to leave the venue for better service elsewhere. Similarly, a takeaway order from the same restaurant experienced significant delays and mishaps, indicating a decline in service standards. In contrast, reviews from previous visits praised the restaurant for exceptional food quality, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Overall, recent experiences suggest that the restaurant may benefit from improving its customer service policies.
Took the wife out (not my wife yet) told her order what you like (just won a bet) she ordered a second popadum #pisstaker…. My curry was fine, hers was top notch, I think I’m in tonight, thanks taj. I don’t have much money, but if I did, I’d buy a big house where we both could live
Ordered a take away from what has always been our favourite Indian restaurant. It took an hour and a half to be delivered, the driver dropped some of the food on the road when delivering it… the box gave way He promised to return in 10 mins with the popadom dips and two main courses, over 30 mins later he did! Compensation was 5 popadoms when we had already received five, no extra dips, no discount because the food had taken so long to be delivered before the mishaps! Disaster of a take away which was a family night before my son his girlfriend go to Australia for a year! What has happened to the standards at a previously top notch restaurant and take away! Massive disappointment tonight, not far behind our last visit to eat in! Not the same staff, not the same standards! Not going back
Really friendly staff and tasty curry at a very reasonable price. The naan bread was excellent and all the dishes fresh and lovely without being greasy. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Went to the Taj on a Friday over the Jubilee weekend with a group of five adults and one small child. The staff were attentive and were always on hand for additional drinks orders etc The food was amazing, piping hot and some great flavours. Everything came together as well. Overall price was just right too, five people paid £150 which included wine and beers, five starters and mains and a few sides. Only thing I can fault is the atmosphere. If you are with a big group or the place is busy, you will be fine. However if it’s not so busy there may be less of an atmosphere as there was no background music etc
We organised a group booking for 19, we arrived and were seated, two separate tables. We waited for service for our drinks, and had some friendly banter with the waiter as to how the rest of our group pushed in with their drinks order. Our drinks arrive , I asked could he put our drinks on a separate tab, and I would pay for them as they were expensive, no need he said. Our drinks arrived and one of our party ordered a double Vodka in a tall glass lots of DIET coke, she cannot have normal coke. This arrived in a small glass, vodka Diet Coke , a bottle served separately. She asked for a second Diet Coke to dilute and larger glass, glass arrived followed by a readily poured COKE. She enquired if this was diet as she has allergies. The waiter then replied IF YOU ASKED FOR DIET THEN DIET IT IS, rude. She then proceeded politely to express the point that she needed 100% certainty it was Diet Coke. He rudely replied IS THIS GOING TO BECOME A PROBLEM. Naturally we were not there to create a problem but to prevent a Crisis if she had ingested anything that exacerbated her condition. The waiter proceeded to ask the person who had poured the drinks to clarify , at which point he returned to the table and with a heavy hand placed a fresh bottle on the table followed by are you happy now. The waiter was rude and caused a situation which could have been prevented. He would not look at her partner or address our concerns. Several people from our group approached the waiter and tried to pacify the situation, he appeared rude arrogant On leaving our table he said WAITERS ARE NOT THERE TO BE ABUSED. At no point in that situation was anyone treated with disrespect or abused. We were there for a celebration and sadly had to take that decision to leave the venue. A very disappointing night out, albeit expensive for just drinks. We proceeded to another venue who provided excellent service and benefitted from a huge expenditure tip from our party. Your team needs to address its customer service policy.
