What 613philipk doesn't like about The Assheton Arms:
This restaurant, located in a charming village, has the potential to be much better. However, it falls short in several areas. The service is poor, the restaurant could use a thorough cleaning, and it seems to lack any management oversight. As locals, we were excited when it reopened, but the quality has steadily declined. Really good evening meal. they were really busy, but in the position to fit us for dinner, really professional, courteous and attentive. beautiful meal and fantastic service by tom and andy. would definitely recommend and will be visited again!
Expects this place to be good because I previously visited the village and all reviews were great, especially the quality of the food. room is compact and stairs are steep, but it is an old building so no problem was. the staff was great and the location is excellent. only after we had booked, we found that eating is not served on Mondays and Sundays, not only the day we stayed, but for the foreseeable future. this should really be highlighted before booking, otherwise they must have a taxi to the next city or have only a package of struggles.
Charming pub in wonderful location with the backdrops of pendle hill . the staff are all very young and a bit inexperienced, but so friendly and want to help nature with a great sense of fun. our room was well equipped with modern furniture, large showers, but reasonably small and done steps inside that could be difficult if they have mobility problems. we were at the coldest weekend of the year, with snow on the hills that was beautiful. to time the pub felt cold despite the log burner, but the warm friendly atmosphere and a circumference or two served as a winter warmer! the menu has changed since our previous visit was more traditional and the service was sometimes a little slow. However, the quality of the products was excellent and the meal times when they came all delicious, including the full English breakfast. overall we felt very at home here and had a fantastic stay
My friend enjoyed the beef cheek pie, but my wife thought the fish risotto was just okay. However, the three times cooked chips that two of us ordered were very disappointing - they seemed a bit stale. The bacon chop was also overcooked. Overall, we were not impressed and I do not plan on returning to this restaurant in a hurry.
