Napiers Arms - Rhondda Cynon Taf

This is a pleasant spot for a small get-together to watch sports, enjoy drinks, play darts, and socialize. The bar food is decent as well.

We go here every Sunday for our Sunday lunch which is delicious. The staff are very friendly, Rachel, Samantha serve you and Maria serves behind the bar and they always serve you with a cheery smile .Pam cooks the food and it's proper home cooking, try her crumbles they are delicious with lashings of custard Mmmmmm yummy. There is a lot going on at the Napes as it's known, Karaoke, skittles, darts, and live shows. Mandy and Tony are the owners and will do anything they can to be of service. We held my mums wake there and they were wonderful and the buffet was really great. Thank you guys very much. Do pay them a visit and be pleasantly surprised but you have to book because they get very busy and their prices are reasonable. They also do Saturday evening meals.

We made a reservation for 1:50pm at this restaurant. When we arrived, the waitress took our order promptly. However, within minutes, another couple who had ordered 2 minutes before us received their food. Another couple who arrived 10 minutes after us also got their food before us. After waiting 20 minutes, our waitress asked the cook when our food would be ready, only to find out that our order had been lost. Despite this, she brought food to a family that had ordered after us and asked us to wait for her partner to return. When she eventually brought a plate of food to us, she asked us what meat we had ordered without knowing what we had ordered. At this point, we decided to cancel our food order and leave, as there was no sense of order or apology for the mix-up. The service was terrible, especially considering there were only 5 people to serve and others were ordering desserts. We were appalled by the lack of organization and communication. The food did not look appetizing, and the mashed potatoes were served with an ice cream scoop. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

The meal was fantastic and great value for money, with a steak meal and dessert for only £15 per person. The service was excellent and there is also an option for gammon if you don't want steak.

Food was a good standard, I had roast beef and my wife roast pork. We followed the lunch with Baileys cheesecake. We had a bottle of merlot with our lunch which was not overpriced. I'm writing this having just booked again for next Sunday.
