It might be described as a greasy spoon cafe but in the best possible way. The proprieters are friendly and welcoming and always ready for a chat. Food is average but the portions are generous and the prices are as low as you will find...anywhere. A great cooked breakfast always available. View all feedback.
What Samantha Phillips doesn't like about Fives Cafe:
I can't believe the prices! Really good value for well-cooked fare. It deserves a four-star but I only downgraded it to three because it's tired-looking inside, and the loo needs some attention. But it was a welcome break, the cheese and potato pie was excellent,...and the cost seemed a throwback to some of the old memories of Abercynon in years gone by. View all feedback.
Five caffe is not much to see outside, but please don't be dropped. inside is beautiful. warm and cozy and always busy. had simply started on Sunday 4.95 for big. was nice. very tasty and made home yorkshire. gravy delicous. worth a visit.
Brilliant prices, and lovely home cooked Sunday roast. Definitely can’t beat it. Although the cafe is let down by its deco, it’s definitely made up for in piping hot, home cooked food. Definitely worth a visit!
Good very reasonable priced, and cooked fresh. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Could do with a bit of an update.

When we went to Fives we nearly mist it because of the half front taken up by industrial Kitchen things. We sat down and were pleasantly welcomed by the one half of the duo that work very well one serving the other cooking I had...a small breakfast my granddaughter had sausages chips and gravy and my wife had poached egg on toast freshly cooked to order and all very nice it was too. The walls seemed to be covered with tea towels form all their holidays. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming other people who were there would talk to us as well, altogether a very nice experience. As one of the other customers said You'll Be Back.
