Brilliant breakfasts, freshly cooked, full of flavour and with the biggest doorstep toast you will find anywhere, this little cafe is a favourite of many of us in Tonypandy. The staff are friendly and the menu is extensive. Prices are very reasonable and they even do a challenge breakfast for those with the largest appetite. Highly recommended! View all feedback.
What Caitlin E doesn't like about Country Kitchen:
Arrived and was not greeted with a warm welcome. Gave the impression we were almost a burden for arriving at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Impatient as we read the menu. Gave us the wrong food and then told other staff as it was returned “what a waste” and sweeping the floor around as as we were still eating. We will not be eating there again View all feedback.
After reading online that you don’t close until 2:30 I have showed up at you cafe for 1:05 for a takeaway breakfast, and have been told that you are closed. Even though the door said that you don’t close until 2pm there were still a minimum of 10 people left I believe this is out off order false advertising and it felt like a very lazy place I will not be revisiting.
Called in here last minute for a cooked breakfast. Main cafe part was full as there are very limited tables so we were taken to a ‘lean to’. This place doesn’t look as if it’s been cleaned in ages, there were cobwebs above us and that was just the start. The table was grubby, the ketchup bottle was filthy and the cutlery was dirty. Won’t return here.
My parents and I took my son to the lakes at Clydach Vale to feed the ducks. After visiting the ducks we popped to Tonypandy and browsed Home Bargains, Asdas, Peacocks and Iceland before stopping at the Country Kitchen Cafe. The cafe was very down to earth, smart, welcoming and Covid aware (staff wearing masks, hand sanitiser and lots of room between the tables). There was a great menu including cooked breakfasts, Sunday roast dinners and homemade family favourites. My parents both ordered cottage pie with mash, vegetables and gravy. I ordered the cheese and potato pie with ham and my son had chicken nuggets and chips from the children's menu. For dessert there was a great selection of homemade treats and we all tried the Manchester Tart which was very moreish (first time we have ever tasted it). Our meals tasted great and the portion sizes were very good. We received excellent customer service from the lovely staff. We can't wait to visit again.
Best break fast I’ve ever had so clean very polite staff would recommend this to anyone!! This place is a little gem.
Well we went to visit one Saturday morning prior to a little retail therapy in Iceland . We Went in and whilst looking to see we wanted to order we were told quite abruptly to put our masks (sorry face coverings) On. However we thought ok but neither the lady serving or the guy waiting for his food had masks on either . However she just gassed and gassed to the man at the counter waiting for his food with no effort to even acknowledge we’d be served in a minute. For us this was the final straw . We walked out due to such terrible customer service . How she could lecture us on not wearing coverings whilst neither her or The man waiting for food had any protection. And then not even acknowledging we’d be served in a minute . Rude , shocking , terrible I’d give it a 0 but can’t .
