Chain House - Rhondda Cynon Taf

Had heard so much about this place, but in between booking and our reservation there has apparently been a change in chef. He possibly worked at McDonalds previously, as the menu was effectively chicken nuggets and burgers. Cocktails were also appalling, worst mojito I've ever had, no mint or muddling going on. Overall very disappointed, might as well have gone to Wearhersoons and paid half as much.

There needs to be a big improvement to the menu here. There were four burger main meals on the menu. Nothing else was offered. My partner and I were out for the evening. We were very disappointed with the lack of choice. There was no menu other than what was displayed on a laptop! It even took 45 minutes to be served the olives starter! When the food came we had to wait for the cutlery. Not a good Friday night out really.

Fantastic food. My mum commented that it was the best lamb she had tasted. I have eaten in a few Michelin star restaurants and the food is on a parity. Nice, small intimate environment. How lucky that The Chain House is within walking distance!

This is the second time myself and my group of friends have eaten here and the food is outstanding. I would definitely recommend going here and trying out the evening menu.

Great service by the very helpful staff! Even better food and really great drinks! Will definitely be attending again!
