I love this place absolutely. The fish soup is to die, and every time we go, it feels like coming home. As a tourist here, this really sets the sound of how open, friendly and diverse the population in Iceland is. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Downtown Cafe:
This place was horrible. It was the worst soup i have ever eaten. I paid 1800isk for the lamb soup and it didn't taste like anything, the bread was dry and chewy. My boyfriend got the lobster soup for 2600isk and it wasn't even lobster. Make yourself a favor and go to the other soup restaurant called Svart kaffid, the personal is super nice, the place cozy, and the soup is AMAZING, plus, the change soup every day! View all feedback.
Good soup, even if service and environment are a little good. However, with prices decidedly average for the city, in this place you can find a modest choice of soups that warm you up in the cold and windy Icelandic evenings, soups that are strictly served in the traditional bread dish (which contributes not little to satiating, if you want to eat that too!
I went here several times during my stay. Well priced meals and beer. The owner is really cool and fun to talk to.
Backpacker's restaurant. Good to eat for a reasonable price. Busy, but because it's cheaper than the surrounding restaurants.
