Staying at the local IBIS and looking for some delicious food within walking distance. Didn't want to go with any of the fast-food options around, and read a few great reviews for Dosa Villas. Totally fantastic food! Family restaurant, so don't go if you're offended by kids. Very large selection of dishes. My husband had a Beef Vindaloo and said it was the best he'd had since eating a Vindaloo in India some years ago... View all feedback.
We have been a regular for over 2 years now. The place serves excellent food very decent prices. They have very basic infrastructure, but if the kind of food served there, is best enjoyed hot! so takeaway is not a great idea. The kothhu roti and chilly porotta are our absolute favs along with mysore masala dosa. Though recently we tried Singapore noodles, they were the best I ever had. Must try, this place
I would say this is the best authentic South Indian restaurant in the Northern suburbs. Other restaurants whose name begin with Dosa are just the namesake ones, and lags making the proper Dosa or authentic South Indian dishes. I had the fish curry here, and it was made in authentic Karaikudi style. One can expect Reasonable price and good quantity. So if you are looking for a authentic South Indian style restaurant Dosa Vilas is the place to go!!
Amazing Dosas. Specifically asks for deer meat curry and relish the spicy curry. Fish curry and beef curry with rice are my favourite. You can get good Indian tea too.
Visited once for dinner. Food was good in taste and freshly prepared and served hot. Hence 4 stars. Lack of ambience forced to pull out one point. A good try if you are in that area and would like to have some Indian/Srilankan/Malay food.
Yesterday was our first time trying out this restaurant. The dosas were delicious, as were the idli and vada. The sambar was also tasty. We would definitely go back again. The only downside is that when they cook the dosas in the front kitchen, it spreads a strong oily food aroma in the air which is not very pleasant. However, I would overlook that for a decently priced, good dosa.
