Description

This restaurant in Reno offers a unique family-style dining experience with group seating. While some customers found the atmosphere and food quality to be enjoyable, others were less impressed with the tired appearance of the place and the lack of attention to detail. Despite mixed reviews, many still appreciate the rich history of the restaurant. The service received positive feedback from most customers, with friendly wait staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant seems to be a good option for those seeking a fun and casual dining experience with generous portion sizes and a chance to meet new people.

Visiting my brother, I chose Louis' Basque Corner as the ad was interesting. We walked in to a neighborhood restaurant and a friendly, welcoming environment. This is a family style restaurant but were too early to enjoy that hospitality. Kimberly asked for our beverage order. Jasmine came over, answered our menu question and took our orders. Then delivered a tureen of soup (remember there were only 2 of us , a huge bowl of salad. Then we were presented with two pieces of baked chicken thigh on rice. (We couldn't eat it and it was boxed for us to take home! Bro had sweetbreads and said it was the best meal in a very long time. I had the 10 oz. steak with delicious, warm French fries. Moises took away the plates so more could be served. I'm from Oregon and we have Tillamook ice cream, an extra creamy treat. So when a scoop of ice cream was served as dessert, I said it was very similar. Grace, another server, stopped by and confirmed my guess. All in all a delicious meal, in a very friendly environment. We'd come here again if I return. Bro has idea to bring some friends in my absence. Thank you all for the experience and memories. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What fun! Picon punch was a great starter at the bar. Nice patrons and servers. We split a very tender ribeye steak and still couldn't eat it all. We love Basque meals and drove 550 miles from SW Utah. It's that good! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Garlic Fries, Clam Chowder Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: I think a vegetarian should pick another restaurant.

Bad service but good food. Came a second time but had to leave before being seating because no one would acknowledge our existence. Terrible service. Bar tender doesn't great you, no one will seat you.

We have dined at this restaurant a number of times. Unfortunately, it appears a bit tired and that perhaps the attention to detail isn't what it once was. The food quality was only so-so. The wait staff was pleasant, though the person checking folks in seemed to have had a bad day. I suspect we will all continue to frequent this restaurant out of respect to its rich history in Reno, but as other restaurant locations become available, I suspect this option will be less and less.

We went on a Sunday night at 8pm. It was dead quiet. But the food and service was great. Looking forward to going back and seeing what it is like when it's packed with customers. Long communal table seating which is fun to chat and meet new people. Would be a completely different experience on a busy night.
