Excellent food and service. Really best meal of our trip Ile de Re restaurants ought to learn from them! We had Salmon, prawn and fish starters super. Then duck, steak and lamb pie and all 3 dishes were superb. View all feedback.
In the center of Rennes, this is a bistro style restaurant with a very nice menu (French classic with a twist) and a good (short) selection of wines and beer. Service was efficient and fast. The evening we were there it was very calm but my guests who had been there several times indicated it had been much busier the previous times. Prices are very reasonable (under 30 euros for a 3 course dinner if I remember correctly).
We went to this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived only a little after midday and so were the only people there to start with. It started to fill up nearer 1 pm and was quite busy then. Service was excellent and welcoming. It is a small and, I think, a fairly new restaurant and it has a pleasant relaxed ambience. Ideal for lunch or dinner I would think. We chose to start with slices of peppers, small pieces of roast potatoes and anchovies topped with a poached egg, Really tasty, fresh and not too spicy. For main course we had a bavette of beef with double-fried chips, fresh salad and a cold spicy tomato concassé, all of which was delicious. The beef was perfectly cooked and tender. All accompanied by a nice bottle of Saint Chinian. Reasonably priced at 24€ for three courses. A thoroughly enjoyable meal. We will return.
This small restaurant is full of wonders! over two floors, you are welcomed with a gentle and bright smile, and shown to your table. there is a lovely ambiance, a very nice décor and a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen! We sat down and read the menu, deciding on choosing the black Place main course, although every starter and mains looked absolutely delicious. Small menu, hand written for me means freshness and diversity! Everything i love about a family owned restaurant! Out came the food: a very well cooked dish, wonderfully presented and well accompanied by the owner's recommended glass of wine. The dessert (Apple Beignet) was as good and freshly prepared as the fish. an absolute delight and a must go restaurant for a nicely prepared and cooked lunch! The whole lot, served with a really nice espresso, it is all your money worth!!! I will come back as soon as i am back in town. Merci pour l'acceuil!! A bientot!
I was brought here by my host for lunch. I saw someone having a fish fillet so I wanted one. Unfortunately there was none left. Must be a popular dish. So I asked for my second choice, which was a burger. It was packed with succulent slices of beef and smoked ham. It came with a side salad and fries. Yummy. For dessert, I had a fruity mousse. Delicious. My host had something that looked like ice cream with strawberries. It looked appetizing as well. Since it was lunch time, the place was packed on a Friday. We were lucky to get two seats. Thus, we had a wait a little bit for service but it was worth the wait. So you might want to go there a little early.
