A family run business providing very nice home baking and a friendly service in the village. They have nice toasties, brie paninis, and a very tempting range of cakes. Must go back again sometime. Try to park in the main village car park though as the one behind is rather tight. View all feedback.
What NicholaC6 doesn't like about Lochnagar:
Went in for cake and coffee and can only describe the experience as bizarre. The premises was empty only 2 other customers when we arrived then only us. Have been here on and off over the years and the staff actually need to smile and make me want to go back. Another annoying aspect is this need to pay cash get with it....its 2019 and for convenience cards should have been accepted here years ago. I believe this is a... View all feedback.
This small restaurant is nice, but extremely pricey. It was my first and last visit. I ordered 6 toasties, 2 pancakes, 4 juices, and 3 teas, and it cost me £65.
I was visiting Johnstone and decided to take a walk to Bridge of Weir when I came across this restaurant. I walked in and asked the staff for recommendations on what to try. They suggested the soup, so I ordered a bowl. The soup was delicious and came with toast, served by friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty, fresh, and affordable the soup was, all served with a smile.
Popped in for tea and cake on a wet and soggy midweek afternoon. Deceptively larger than expected inside, with eclectic seating options! A few others were inside, with a steady stream of customers entering during the course of our visit, so clearly a popular spot with the locals. Always a good sign! Served by a very pleasant young man who swiftly appeared with our order. Food was lovely delicious soup and bread) and the cakes were super tasty indeed! Lovely old building with a small car park at the rear. Toilets were up a small flight of stairs in the main part of the cafe about 6/7 steps) and they also have a baby changing facility/ ? toilet in the street level part of the building. Worth supporting with your custom as the food is really nice.
We visited here for a lunch and cup of tea after our very wet walk along the old railway track from Kilmacolm. It is dog friendly and was nice and warm. The welcome was nice and friendly. Service seemed a little slow considering it was not too busy. But food was good.
It’s a family run tea-room/cafe which provides good value home-made fare. Have been many times and never once had reason to complain. Limited selection for lunch but always tasty, fresh and enough to make us go back (4 or 5 main courses plus a variety of toastier/sandwiches). Plus scones, cakes etc. No alcohol. Very welcoming for all ages. Always busy and buzzy. No music!!
