Very good veal quenelle, meat well cooked,seasoned and presented with not your every day ingredients. Definitely a good value for price with a choice of local products. Outside of this, the place could really use some management and should decide on what level it wants to cater to clients. The kitchen entrance is right next to the toilets where a very strong stain remover was put right next to hand soap imagine a child not knowing what Eau Ecarlate is , you could hear the team of young cooks screaming all the way to the table, and follow their conversations. The water is served to you as a brand but comes into a glass jar, the waitress called us Mrs and Mr when we were two guys and the next table with a man and a woman Misters ... , the bread was forgotten and brought to us after the appetizers, the same waitress again forgot to change my cutlery before the main dish, the maitre D forgot what some of the dishes of the day were, the outside chairs were very uncomfortable and last but not least, nothing was done to keep the wasps away. Something good: the place has an access for wheelchairs.
We stopped off here for lunch on a Saturday. Our previous visit(s dated from before the Internet was invented, but the food was just as good this time as it was all those years ago. We went for the simplest menu (Starter, main, cheese or dessert, wine coffee for 24€ and we were very happy with our choice. Beautifully presented with luxurious flavours, married with a simple local Maconnais wine. Not a single false note for the whole meal. Some may find the Maconnais red wine a little robust for their palate, try the rosé instead. This restaurant has a Michelin bib gourmand which is awarded each year to exceptional restaurants with reasonable prices a perfect description of our lunch! We 'll be back!
It was my 3rd time to Jacques Coaur restaurant in 2 years. Excellent quality of food, good service, but quite expensive menu for the region. Decoration of the restaurant is surprising (it seems to be from the 80's)
Went as a party of four for a special occasion, based on the very high reputation of this restaurant. The welcome was very poor and with no smiles, and the service was very bad, incompetent even (wine spilt every time and had to be requested several times for instance). The food was average and the price very high. Would never go again and would not recommend.
This restaurant is best for me to be enjoyed on it's terrace. The food is really good and it is a comfortable place. Our to lockdown, it is of course some time since it was possible to go there.
