We had come for a live music event starting at 5:00, arriving at 4:50, but... read more To start, Roots did not honor our reservation, telling us to sit wherever we pleased. We had come for a live music event starting at 5:00, arriving at 4:50, but we were not served for thirty minutes due to only one server on duty. Once two more servers started their shifts, things improved. The food was decent, hot, and tasty, but not all requests were fulfilled, such as my request for fresh, hot coffee at the time of booking. The one coffee ordered was not refilled, and the rest of us were not offered coffee after the meal. My burger was missing the lettuce. The menu had good options overall, but lacked vegan choices, particularly for hot dishes, which did not work for some in my family. Few restaurants in Regina follow the tradition of serving the oldest female first, then the next oldest, and so on, and this was no different- my 95-year-old mother had her order taken after her youngest son. Despite these issues, our server was friendly, polite, and attentive. The furnishings, however, left something to be desired- the upholstered bench was uncomfortably low, and some tables were too large.

Carmelita was our server and she was absolutely lovely! She made the meal and experience a 5 star. Great atmosphere as well. Chill vibes which was exactly what we needed after a long day of diving. Highly recommended.
