Was Garry Hancock at Dawsons a mag?
Had lunch as we always do when travelling between Hanmer springs and Greymouth. The soup and battered fish were great and the banoffee pie was excellent. Totally recommend this hotel for food. Btw try and solve the mystery of where is table 4? It was our favourite Service: 5 View all feedback.
What Akeisha Whatu dislikes about Dawsons:
I think if you’re a rich tourist go ahead and eat it. For the locals however it’s just sad.BRING BACK NORMAL FOOD! This place is going down under whoever is running your business is obviously a rich bunch with poor taste. Like for god sakes your Reefton not bloody Eifell towers. Service: 1 View all feedback.

Had dinner here two nights in a row. All meals were outstanding, from the confit duck and mushroom risotto to the smoked chicken pasta and the creme brulee. Absolutely delicious and super fast service from the chef and the bar staff. I hope you pay them well!
We had an amazing time and meal . We would have rated a five star, but it took a while for anyone to attend us. We are not complaining. We're just saying that there could have been more bar and reception staff as it was Really busy. The staff were amazing . Friendly, courteous and very efficient. Just not enough of them. Thanks for an amazing dinner. The beef burger was absolutely delicious . Service: 4
Was definitely my favourite place to visit while in Reefton however seems there has been some changes in price portion size and quality. Such a shame. Not so inviting anymore Food drinks: Steaks were precooked so the were unable to serve a rare steak Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly

Came for drinks and dinner with friends, stay in reefton for the birthday of my mannes. our meals were really good. mix them with the order, but the personal was pleasant and the error was corrected efficiently. well done!
I had dinner here on a Wednesday evening after staying overnight in Reefton. The staff at Reefton Distilling recommended this restaurant to us. It was moderately busy with a few tables in use, but there was plenty of space and they had no trouble seating our party of 2. They had a nice selection of beers and a few wines to choose from. The food was well-presented and delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. A bonus was being able to watch the Sky Sport rugby on the big screen. I would definitely consider returning if I am ever passing through Reefton again.
Food. Battered beer fish, far far too oily, n overcooked, it resemble an old brown worn shoe. I enjoyed just the salad chips. My husband enjoyed his burger. But 4 $60 , we felt our takeaways weren't worthy of the prices they charged us. My advice is this,... open up ur meal n check it in front of staff b 4 u leave, I just wished we had.
We did not stay but the staff were fabulous as 22 of us turned up on the Monday evening for a meal , the staff were very accommodating , thank you again
