We found this place because we saw a sign on the highway. We are southern people, and are some what skeptical of places like this, that claim to be homemade and such, but this place was AMAZING. The food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. We stopped again on the way back through. Great place, great foo. This will be our go to everytime we pass through the area. Waited an hour and a half for food on a Wednesday. I was told because it takes awhile to cook scrapple.. well it came out paper thin.. do not recommend at all
Stopped at this place for lunch during a recent trip. I'd never stopped here before. I was looking for a local restaurant for lunch and this place seemed to fit the bill. It was rather busy inside but I didn't have any issues finding a table. I waited around 7 minutes to be greeted I didn't mind as again, they were busy and had limited staff. I ordered the Club Sandwich with chips. It was quite tasty! They use real Turkey on their sandwiches which is impressive!! I left full and happy! Prices are quite cheap too! I love little gem finds like this hometown diner with lots of local historic charm!
We discovered this restaurant after noticing a sign along the highway. As people from the South, we're usually a bit cautious about places that advertise homemade food, but this place exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the service was exceptional. We even made a point to stop by again on our return trip. It’s a wonderful spot with delicious food, and we plan to make it our regular stop whenever we’re in the area.
The food was generally good. My husband particularly enjoyed his pancakes and thought the scrapple was decent (though he prefers it fried a bit more for extra crispiness). I found my roast turkey sandwich with fries and gravy to be satisfactory. The turkey tasted freshly carved, and the fries were well cooked. I appreciated that the bread was homemade, especially since we were in Amish country. However, the gravy could use some improvement—it seemed like just a cornstarch slurry mixed with flavorless stock. A little salt helped it somewhat. I plan to return, as I'm not one to judge a restaurant based on a single meal. I’m hopeful the gravy will be better on my next visit. The staff was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy with a welcoming, homey vibe.
