Its been about a year since I ate here. The place is homely. The service was impeccable. It almost felt as if I was a guest in their home. The food was different than most Indian buffets I've experienced but in a good way. Overall great experience and I've recommended Little India countless times. I'm surprised to see negative reviews. I haven't been in so long because I'm so seldom in the area, but look forward to the next visit.
Wow. The food had amazing flavor it was very spicy, as in full of flavor, and it was a bit spicy as in red hot chili pepper spicy too, but not so much to as to overpower the flavor. It was some of the best I've ever had! I especially loved the madras tomato soup. Very unique to me, and delicious. I was very impressed by the value dinner buffet only $13! and by the relaxing atmosphere of the place. The owner himself was there, and he and his son were very friendly and kind.
I am surprised by all the people who give this restaurant a bad review. I have been eating here for well over a decade. (I worked nearby before I retired. I think it is a great value for the money. I like that they charge a different amount if you are only having vegetarian food or also eating the meat. I like that they also have a buffet at dinner time, a rarity, and still reasonably priced. I really like that they almost always have baingan bharta, a Punjabi eggplant preparation. Another very cool benefit of being a regular customer is that they keep a record of when you eat there and after 10 meals, you get one free. (One of the people, though Indian, who gave a bad review talked about that there should never be bbq, when a tandoori oven is one very typical way of preparing some dishes....a sort of Indian bbq. I sure don't understand his complaint.
Very pleased with service and happy to know that my meal was cooked by Chef Manoj Chopra, an AFAIG winner. After reading his successful Bio on the back of the Menu, i admire this quaint restaurant even more...will definitely recommend and come back.
Being Indian myself, this food was truly a wonderful experience to eatThe Butter Chicken and Paneer Tika were absolutely delicious.
