Small but clean indoor dining area but I usually enjoy their outdoor seating. Service is always with a smile. My only experience with their Mexico City family's mamalones but it's so good that I always order it. The horchata is so tasty that I think it may be housemade. View all feedback.
What Dan Wisniewski doesn't like about La Cocina De La Abuela:
Overpriced. I was excited to try this place until I got my menu. Practically everything was $17-$25 dollars before tax, which no one would expect from a place with a pretty basic Nor Cal Mexican menu and a cheaply furnished 200 square foot dining room. It was also right next to a noisy Caltrain station but worst of all, no complimentary chips and salsa, despite the high prices.I walked out. Not sure why this place wa... View all feedback.
The beef super burrito is consistently delicious and great bang for the buck
Always have my order ready and delicious. I love that they are walking distance from my job.
Our waitress was so sweet and kind. The menu isn't marked for gluten free items, and the grill space is a little small, so I ordered the ceviche to ensure no gluten cross-contamination. The food feels very authentic and well prepared. I had real uncooked shrimp diced and marinated with citrus to my desired spice level. Some places will put pre-cooked salad shrimp with some veg and lime and call it ceviche--not here! My lunching mate had a torte, and it was very well portioned. Not sure if there's a wrong answer to the menu here!
Incredible food, very friendly staff. The Cochinita Tacos were incredible!!Wheelchair accessibility: Front door is wheelchair accessible
I have never had a burrito that tasted this good. The service was quick, the place is clean, the prices are very reasonable and I will be back very soon for another one ?. Well done! ?
