What Kevin doesn't like about K&l Wine Merchants:
Worst shopping experience ever. I'm 21+ with valid ID, but the clerk refused to sell, saying because I was with someone (also 21+ didn't have ID in an earlier visit, even though I came in by myself this time. After some debate, another clerk stepped in and finished the transection. I felt very unwelcomed during the whole process. View all feedback.
Liquor selection was a little light and only higher end bottles were sitting on the shelf. Great place to pay a slight premium for the harder to find bottles, but not for your everyday sippers.
Friendly staff, wide selection. Parking can be difficult as it shares a backlot with a nearby restaurant, so if you avoid dinner time, you'll have no problem parking.
Lots of interesting finds. Especially batavia arrack too.
Great selection of wines and spirits. Knowledgeable staff with excellent recommendations esp for specials. Highly recommended.
Not only is the staff incredibly friendly, they have an uncanny knowledge of the items they sell. I was looking for a semi-rare rum and a semi rare vodka. The rum was on the shelf and they knew where the vodka was in their store room next door. Even more, I was surprised at the pricing. I kind of assume both would be a bit expensive, but their pricing was super reasonable for the quality of what I was buying. If you live in the area and you're looking for that special bottle of wine or that weird bottle of liquor you tasted once. These are your people
