Oh, the sushi restaurant of my teenage years... I have been to Higuma many times and always left satisfied. Since then, I have also visited Japan multiple times... View all feedback. What User likes about Higuma Japanese:
The staff here is incredibly nice and very attentive. I am on a business trip in the city and have just chosen the Sushi Square near my hotel on a whim. It was a very happy accident as the sushi rolls were excellent, fresh and tasteful. This is the kind of place where you find out from the city that you wish you were right around the corner of your house. View all feedback.

read moreHiguma is a beloved sushi spot for longtime customers, offering great selections and reasonable prices. Despite a negative experience, overall reviews laud the restaurant's exceptional tamago and tempura. The friendly staff are attentive and the fresh, expertly prepared sushi is a find – even with unique options like caviar and barracuda. Seating can be tight, but the small dining room and unassuming location provide a cozy atmosphere for superb food. With friendly service and excellent quality, Higuma is highly recommended as a go-to sushi spot in Redwood City.
Best sushi on the peninsula! Very fresh, high quality fish. Try the white tuna and the yellow tail.
