I love the beer garden here! There are many options to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the Kölsch-Pilsner. I also appreciate the communal seating in the German-style beer garden, with long tables for everyone to share. The food is quite good as well; the woman in our group was particularly taken with the cheese and salami platter. The carving board is a safe bet, especially because the meats are all delicious. Great beers and sausages. The outdoor seating was great but it can get a little warm in the afternoon. Best part was the German store where we loaded up on Haribro candies. Just learned that this is a German brand.
Loved this place! The environment is so nice. Considering there are two entrances, one through the front end store that leads to the bar or the back end. The inside is so damn nice only complaint is how small it is. Much like a tavern where you can come with your buds and have a few beers and sausages. The booze and food. Absolutely marvelous. Our server made a buddy's bday all the best. She was amazing and constantly checked on us and offered drinks when we were confused about what to order next! Will absolutely come back again!
This is a really fun German pub (gasthaus)! The wait staff is super friendly and nice. They have an excellent beer selection with great beer steins that the beers are served in. They also have non German beers which is great. I would like to see a couple Belgian beers on the menu. We had the curry plate with french fries that had two different types of sausages and both were excellent. We had the giant pretzel with the Camembert cheese spread which was delicious and huge! We also have the potato which were good and served with apple sauce and sour cream. There is a gorgeous little German store at the front packed with all kinds of German treats, candy, beer, pasta etc. This is a jewel of Redwood City!
Perfect place for a beer and a brat. 5/5 Friendly and quick service. 5/5 Authentic german beer garden menu 5/5 Fun low key ambiance set in the back of the storefront with patio amd indoor seating. 5/5 The store has a lot to offer to enjoy at home. The hot soft pretzel is THE BEST we have EVER enjoyed.
I am so excited to write this review that I don 't even know how to start. As someone from German decent, I need to exclaim that this place is AWESOME!!! First, there 's the ambiance. It 's a beir hall with a nice little bar section. Sit at the bar or sit a the tables. Also, you enter the front through a little store that sells authentic German wares, from beer and liquor to foods, including saurkraut and REAL Harbro! German Harbro gummies are different!!! Pear brandy and all the other mainstays that I 'll be heading back for that you CANNOT find at BevMo. Trust me. Second, the food. First, pretzels: OMG. As a fat man, German-American, and former Pennsylvanian: These are in competition for some of the best pretzels I might have ever had. Seriously great. Then the sausages were on point. Third, the staff. I am actually a very shy person. They made me feel very welcome and they were very approachable. I cant say enough nice things about them.
