We had booked a table at 18:45. We were the only people in the restaurant during the whole meal. The waiter looked quite unhappy in the first part of our visit but started to smile a little bit at the end. The food was very basic but tasted good. All in all an OK meal but not a meal we will remember for very long. View all feedback.
It’s a great place to have Alentejo food, for a nice price, cooked with passion. We will certainly come back again. Home grown tomatos and chicken walking around in the garden. Highly recommended.
Honest home food! Cooked with love! Absolutely must visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend for great lunch and dinner!
We wanted something a little different to do on a day with nothing planned while in Evora. We found Serra d’Ossa footbridges for a hike online. When we got to Serra d’Ossa we stop in at this restaurant to ask directions. They were pleasant and helpful. We returned after the hike for lunch and had the tomato soup which was very good and a chicken dish. We shared both dishes. The chicken had a similar sauce to the soup and the breast meat was a little dry but the dark meat was good. The restaurant itself was super clean and a very pleasant place to eat. True to what another reviewer said though, that the waitress seemed a bit unhappy that we were there. When I asked if they had wifi she just shrugged and said no and gave me a look…but when I explained I wanted to translate the menu a bit she then explained a few of the items to me and warmed up toward us after that. The food was simple, good, and plentiful but while not bland it could have used a little more spices of some kind.
We were recommend Serra D’Ossa by the owner of our guest house and it’s easy to see why. The food couldn’t have been better or the owners nicer. They accommodated our four year old daughter’s allergy issues without fuss and were delightful. This is a place rooted in the village. It incorporates a bar where the locals gather and a restaurant for something one notch up: honest home cooking, executed perfectly. I’m told the owners grow a lot of the fruit and veg themselves and it comes through in the flavours: the tomato ‘soup’ is a huge and hearty broth fit for a hungry herder or hiker. The grilled pork was delicious (and also huge) and the chips with oregano particularly moreish. A bowl of sweet cherries for dessert, a local liquor to wash them down and a bill so modest it will make you blush makes Serra D’Ossa a great local’s choice if you’re nearby.
We went here twice during our stay at a local airbnb. It’s fantastic, really friendly staff, amazing food! The tomato soup was just incredible! We sat for hours with wine, desert, coffee. The house was wine was great! Loved it so much, would definitely recommend this place :
